Newark NJ Heroin Possession SuspectBrooklawn New Jersey police arrested a Westville NJ man who allegedly had a large amount of illegal drugs in his car.

Police made the arrest shortly after initiating a traffic stop at 1:15 p.m. The suspect was reportedly driving a Hyundai Santa Fe on a street in Brooklawn when a patrol officer observed him committing a moving violation. The police officer stopped the suspect’s car and ran a check on his driver’s license.

When the Brooklawn police officer learned that the suspect had active arrest warrants out of other municipalities, he detained the suspect and called for assistance.

Police later searched the suspect’s vehicle and allegedly discovered 289 bags of heroin and a jar filled with a small quantity of marijuana.

The suspect is 24-year-old man who resides in Westville, New Jersey. He was placed under arrest and charged with multiple drug offenses, including heroin distribution, heroin possession, and simple possession of marijuana.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility in Camden, NJ. He was being held at the jail on a bail amount of $51,000.
