Camden County NJ Sexual Assault LawyersA Gloucester Township middle school teacher has been charged with a sex crime after allegedly sexually assaulting a female student.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect sexually assaulted a young student who is said to have been under the age of 13. The suspect was employed as a teacher at Ann Mullen Middle School, which is located in Gloucester Township, NJ.

Once school officials learned of the sexual offense allegations, they contacted the Gloucester Township Police Department. Gloucester Township police and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office subsequently worked together on a joint investigation into the suspect.

The Gloucester Township NJ school recently contacted parents to let them know that they took immediate action once the sex crime allegations were made known to them. The suspect was promptly removed from the classroom, suspended from his teaching duties, and banned from campus.

The suspect, a 65-year-old man who lives in Sicklerville, New Jersey, has been charged with multiple sex crimes, including second degree sexual assault and third degree endangering the welfare of a child.

If the suspect is convicted on the most serious charges of sexual assault, he would face significant penalties. A conviction for second degree sexual assault could result in a sentence of 5-10 years in NJ State Prison. Additionally, the suspect would have to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law after serving any sentence.
