Pine Hill police recently arrested a man who allegedly had a number of illegal weapons and drugs at his residence.
According to law enforcement, Pine Hill NJ police officers obtained a search warrant for a residence located on the 100 block of East Branch Avenue in Pine Hill, NJ. Shortly after police officers entered the home, they allegedly smelled “the strong odor of raw marijuana.”
A subsequent search of the residence reportedly led police to find multiple weapons, including a .50 caliber muzzle-load rifle and a crossbow.
Pine Hill police officers who searched the home also reportedly found eight marijuana plants, in addition to marijuana growing equipment, pot packaging materials, and pot distribution materials.
The 33-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with several criminal offenses, including distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Additionally, the suspect was charged with endangering the welfare of a child because police officers reportedly found a young child inside the residence at the time of the arrest. Authorities said that the child had access to the weapons.
Not long after being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $88,500 bail.
Meanwhile, the child discovered at the residence was turned over to the NJ Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
